Installing on Microsoft Windows NT
Selecting MSC.Patran Components
The MSC.Patran product offers the following installation options:
• Full installs all modules, options and preferences.
• Typical installs the most frequently used modules, options and preferences.
• Customallowstheusertoselectwhichmodules,optionsandpreferencesare
installed.Ifyouselectcustom,youwillbepresentedwiththefollowingform
to select individual components.
FrameViewer Installation (Optional)
This portion of the installation installs FrameViewer. Use FrameViewer to view the
online documentation files.
1. Selectregisteredownerinstallation(notnetworkedinstallation).Networked
installation allows FrameViewer to be accessed from a server and MSC has
not verified this option.
2. At the prompt, supply a name, company name, and an installation path.
3. Install all FrameViewer components..
For information on ATM installation see Adobe Type Manager Setup (p. 75).
Note: We recommend installing a PostScript printer driver for viewing the
helpfiles.
