4.5 NT Optional Steps
Changing Fonts on Windows NT
MSC.Patran on Windows NT uses fonts as defined under Control
Panel\Display\Appearance andControl Panel\Display\Settings. Large
fonts are not recommended as they may, depending on monitor size and screen
resolution, distort some forms .
Customizing FrameViewer
To customize the size of the FrameViewer display:
1. Open the fmviewer.ini file.
2. Under Misc. preferences, edit the line:
MonitorSize=17in
You can define the size of your monitor in centimeters or inches.
This setting is normally done during the FrameViewer installation process, but you
can change the setting after the installation.
Adobe Type Manager Setup
Adobe TypeManager isrequired forproperdisplay ofsomesymbols andfontsin the
on-line help files. Once Adobe Type Manager is installed, three additional steps are
required:
1. Start AdobeType Manager under
Start/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Type
Manager.
2. Select thec:\PSFONTS\PFM directory onthe AdobeType Managermain form.
3. Selectthe ZapfDingbatsfont andclick ontheAddbutton.TheZapfDingbats
font should now appear in the Destination list.
Printing on Windows NT
MSC.Patran uses the standard Windows printing API, and will print to any printer
installed in Windows. No special setup or installation steps are required.
