Selecting an Installation Device

are installing, and the path to that media.

computer, or NFS mounted on this computer.

2. Install from a remote CD.

Select this item if the installation CD is attached to another

computer.

Select1ifyouareinstallingfromalocalCD-ROMdriveoranNFSmountedCD-ROM.

Select 2 to access a CD-ROM drive on a remote system via rsh and rcp. Once you

have selected the type, you will be prompted for a UNIX path:

Enter the pathname of the local CD-ROM mount point.

Pathname (default = /CDROM)?

Press <return> to select the default path, or enter the correct path to the CD-ROM

directory.

Installing Linux Additional Packages (Linux Only)

The mscsetup utility willinstall thefollowing requiredpackages which aredeliverd

on the CD-ROM:

• Korn Shell (pdksh)

• MesaGL OpenGL (mesaGL)

• Elfstone Motif (sabre-motif)

Themscsetup utilitywill determineif thesepackages arealready installed,and ifso,

will compare the versions. You will be asked if you wish to upgrade if the installed

package is older than that delivered on the MSC.Patran CD-ROM. See Linux

Requirements (p. 26) for version information.
