The mscsetup utility on UNIX and the setup.exe Wizard on Windows NT indicate
required disk space for each product set. See Using the mscsetup Utility (p. 32) for
additional information on the mscsetup utility.
RPC Daemons
On UNIX systems, the FrameViewer online documentation system requires the rpc
daemons
statd and lockd. The exact name and format of these daemons varies from
platform to platform. An example of the names of these daemons is:
/usr/sbin/rpc.lockd and /usr/sbin/rpc.statd.

Note: MSC.Patran needs a minimum of 32 MB of available RAM. On newer operating
systems, such as HP HP-UX 11, SGI IRIX 6.5, Sun Solaris 8, IBM AIX 4.3, the operating
system itself may need 128 MB (or more) as a minimum.
Important: The installation process requires some additional space for file
decompression. At most, decompression requires about 50MB beyond
product disk requirements, but 10MB of additional space is more
typical. The mscsetup utility attempts touse/tmpfor decompressionif
insufficient space is available in the installation directory.
