7 Connect the ground wire to the terminal block.
The orange ground wire connects to the terminal block, located at the
base of the AEM between the two Application Modules, using a lug
connector.
8 Install the Application Module power supply.
Refer to the “Installing the power supply” subsection for instructions.
9 Install the Meridian MAX 8 SNN/SNN-E mass storage unit (MSU).
Refer to the “Installing the mass storage unit (MSU)” subsection for
instructions.
10 Your MVME332XTS/XT cards may come already installed in the
system. You should verify the switch settings of each MVME332XTS/XT
card.
Refer to the “Hardware upgrades and replacements” section, “Adding
MVME332XTS/XT cards to an SNN/SNN-E system” subsection, for
more information on the removal and installation of MVME332XTS/XT
cards.
Refer to the “MVME332XTS and MVME332XT eight-channel
asynchronous boards” section of this chapter for switch setting
information.
11 You may install additional MVME332XTS/XT cards into your Meridian
MAX 8 SNN/SNN-E.
Refer to the “Hardware upgrades and replacements” section, “Adding
MVME332XTS/XT cards to an SNN/SNN-E” subsection, for more
information on the installation of MVME332XTS/XT cards.
12 Connect your system console to the Meridian MAX using an NT7D61Ax
cable.
The DB-25 end connects to the workstation, and the DB-9 end
connects to the SYS CONS port on the I/O panel located at the rear of
the Application Equipment module (AEM).
13 Configure the system console.
Refer to the “Workstation, HSL, and LML configuration” chapter,
“Workstation configuration” section, for more information on configuring
the system console.
14 Configure the MVME167-34 or MVME177-005 card.
Refer to the “Configuring the CPU card” section for instructions.
