To increase the number of packet buffers, perform Procedure 6-6.
Procedure 6-6
To increase the number of packet buffers
1 Unload the PC/TCP kernel.
Enter inet unload {RETURN}.
2 Restart the kernel.
Enter <kernel> -p 10 {RETURN}.
For example, if your PC/TCP kernel is “ethdrv,” enter the following at
the DOS prompt: ethdrv -p 10.
3 Change to the DOS directory where you installed the MTE software.
For example
CD C:\MERIDIAN
4 Start MTE.
Enter MTE {RETURN}
.
5 If you still experience problems, repeat steps 1 to 4, and increase the
number of packets by one each time until the performance improves.
Common LAN functionality
Meridian MAX connectivity
A 15-pin AUI connector is provided to connect the Meridian MAX to the
LAN. A customer provided-transceiver is required for connecting to
10Base-5, 10Base-T, or 10Base-2 cabling.
Connecting the Meridian MAX to the LAN is done through an Ethernet or
Ethernet 2 frame connection between your local LAN Ethernet port and
• on the SNN hardware platform, the I/O panel’s Ethernet connection on
the NT7D47EA cable
• on the IPE hardware platform, the LAN connection on the NT1R03AA
four-port I/O cable
Token Ring environment
For Token Ring environments, the following items are required:
• Token Ring Adapter LAN Card with an ASI, NDIS, ODI, or packet
driver
• Protocol converter
