Appendix B Web Filter Service
290 X Family LSM User’s Guide V 2.5.1
Each license allows one year of filtering for a specific X family product. Licenses cannot be transferred
between base products, except through the standard Return Materials Authorization (RMA) process.
When you purchase a Web Filter Service subscription, you will receive a License pack which includes a
unique License Key. To enable the Web Filter Service for your product, register the License Key at http:/
/eSupport.3com.com. You also need to provide the serial number of the specific X family device for
which you are enabling the service.
Free 14-day Trial Period
When you receive a new X family device, you can sign up for a 14-day trial period for the Web Filter
Service. During the trial period, you do not need a license for the service. The trial period is activated
when you register the device.
Note: The purchase of a Web Filter Service license does not extend any
warranties or support contracts on the base product.
