11 Group C on figuration
Introduction
The Group Configuration screen is located in the Configuration tab in Performance Advisor XP (PA XP)
as shown in Group Config uration screen. Use this screen to group host and array components, and to
view or make comparisons between specific components. For example, if you have a database that is
spread across three LDEVs, or if you want to view all LDEVs assigned to a particu lar port, you must
use the Group Configuration screen.
Using the list boxes and d rop-down menus in this screen, you can filter the data you want to receive as
shown in Group Configuration screen.

Using the Group Configuration screen
The list box at the top of the Group Config uration screen displays the components that are h ighlighted
in the fields and drop-down menus that appear below the list box. Your selection in the fields and
drop-down menus determines the data that appears in the list box. Use the Group Configuration screen
to create groups, delete groups, or view specificgroupconfigurations such as certain sets of ACPs.
Creating groups
The Group Configuration screen provides drop-down menus and enables you to easily identify and enter
the parameters for your group. The drop-down menus a ct as filters, and control and limit the data received.
To create groups, complete the following steps:
1. In the Arrays list, select the array for your group. Select <All>,orselectspecificarrays. Toselect
more than one array, click each array that you want to include in your group.
2. In the Hosts list, select the host for your group. Selec t <All>, or select specific hosts. To select more
thanonehost,clickeachhostthatyouwanttoincludeinyourgroup.
3. Select the ACPs, ports, and R AID groups for your group by using the respective drop-down menus.
