Advisor XP 3.3
Overview
HP StorageWorks Performance Advisor XP (PA XP) 3.3 is an Internet application that collects and
monitors real-time performance of HP StorageWorks XP disk array products. You can use the simple,
browser-based interface of Per formance Advisor XP to customize performance data collection and set
performance alarms.
Following are the main components of PA XP:
• a centralized management station
• distributed host station(s)
• command-line presentation client
Data communication between these com ponents is achieved through Internet-based protocols, which
eliminates ge o graphical limitations to PA XP component distribution. PA XP provides effective, point-in
time displays that provides an overall view of subsystem performance.
PA XP offers the following features:
• Multiple interactive views of performance data
• Up-to-the-minute, real-time performance data and history for array logical devices, frontend
ports, backend p orts, and internal bus
• Performance alarm notification (level-based or trend-based) through email, Simple Network
Management Protocol (SNMP), or user-defined scripts
• Command-line user interface (CLUI) and applications progra mming interface (API) for integrating
PA XP with third-party applications such as OpenView Performa nce Agent, OV-SAM Storage
Optimizer, and SPMX
• Third-par ty integration ability
• Host and management station-based solutions
• Sorting abili ty
Yo u can use HP StorageWorks Performance Advisor XP 3.3 as a standalone application or with HP
StorageWorks Command View XP (CV XP). For more information on installing PA XP, see the HP Storage
