
After you click Request D ata, the system retrieves the requested data and displays the results of your query
in the Grid Display screen.

You can have 16384 logical devices (LDEVs) per array in a XP12000 and XP10000. To increase the
number of LDEVs use, Global Logical Partition (GLPR). You can have four GLPRs per array, each GLPR
has 64 control units (CUs), and each CU has 256 LDEVs, making a total of 16384 LDEVs per G LPR.
Hence, the total numbers of LDEVs for an array, using GLPR is 65279.
NOTE:
GLPR is applicable only for XP10000 , XP12000 ,SVS200, and XP24000 arrays. You can create G LPRs
only in a mainframe environment.
The relationship between GLPR, CU, and LDEV for XP12000, XP10000 and XP24000 is explained
in Table 2.

Using the Grid Display screen
Depending on the items selected in the Grid Display query screen, the system retrieves the requested data
and displays the results in a scrolling list box in the Grid Display screen, as shown in Grid Display screen.
