Working with a RAID-5 Set
The CLI allows you to perform the following modifications to a
RAID-5 set:
■ Restore a RAID-5 set
■ Scrub a RAID-5 set
See the Flexible Array Storage Tool User’s Guide for a complete
description of RAID-5 sets and other container concepts.
The following sections describe how to perform these modifications.
Restoring a RAID-5 Set
The CLI allows you to restore a RAID-5 set that has one or more
dead partitions. You use the container restore raid5
command to restore a RAID-5 set. This command does not always
succeed and should be used when all other measures to restore the
RAID-5 set fail.
The container restore raid5 command may be useful if you
inadvertently remove a disk drive and then almost immediately put
it back. The act of removing the drive may cause dead partitions to
appear. You can then restore the RAID-5 set by using this command.
To work with restoring a RAID-5 set, you must understand:
■ The RAID-5 set restore attributes that you can specify
■ How to restore a RAID-5 set
