Initial Synchronization Using Tape Backup
InForm OS Version 2.3.1 Remote Copy User’s Guide
7 Create a synchronous Remote Copy group on InServ1:
◆ <group_name> is the name of the created Remote Copy group (for example
sync_group_1).
◆ <target_name> is the Remote Copy target (for example InServ2).
◆ <mode> is either synchronous (sync) or periodic (for example sync).
8 Admit the volume to the Remote Copy volume group:
◆ <VV_name> is the name of the virtual volume added to the Remote Copy group (for
example localvv.0 and localvv.1).
◆ <group_name> is the name of the Remote Copy volume group (for example
sync_group_1).
◆ <target_name> is the name of the Remote Copy target system on which the backup
volume for <VV_name> resides (for example InServ2).
◆ <sec_VV_name> is the name of the backup volume created for <VV_name> (for
example remotevv.0 and remotevv.1).
Repeat the
admitrcopyvv step for each volume that will be part of the group:
9 Activate Remote Copy for the Remote Copy volume group created on InServ1:
◆ -nosync indicates that an initial synchronization of the specified group is not
performed and the group’s virtual volumes are set to synchronized state.
◆ <group_name> is the name of the started Remote Copy volume group (for example
sync_group_1).
On InServ1:
# creatercopygroup <group_name> <target_name>:<mode>
On InServ1:
# admitrcopyvv VV_name group_name target_name:sec_VV_name
On InServ1:
# startrcopygroup -nosync <group_name>
