2. Execute the following command:

3. Verify installation of the proper version using the raidqry command:

$ raidqry -h

Command execution by in-band and out-of-band operations

RAID Manager operations can be performed using either the in-band method (XP24000/XP20000

Disk Array and earlier) or the out-of-band method (new on P9500).

• In-band method. This method transfers a command from the client or the server to the command

device of the storage system via SVP and executing a RAID Manager operation instruction.

• Out-of-band method. This method transfers a command from the client or the server to the

virtual command device in the SVP via LAN, assigning a RAID Manager operation instruction

to the DKC, and executing it.

The following figure shows a system configuration example and a setting example of a command

device and a virtual command device by the in-band and out-of-band methods.
