Configuring ports procedure
To configure ports, use the following steps:
1. Select Configure > Ports. The Configure Ports dialog box appears.

Ports are numbered from 0 through 24 for the Edge Switch 2/24 and 0 through 31 for the
Edge Switch 2/32.
2. Click a Name box and type a name that reflects the end device connected through the port.
For example, use XYZ Server, where XYZ is the brand name of the server.
3. Block or unblock operation for a port by clicking the check box in the Blocked column. When
a check mark displays, the port is blocked.
4. (Edge Switch 2/32 only.) Enable or disable extended distance buffering for the port by clicking
a check box in the 10-100 km column. When a check mark displays, extended distance
buffering is enabled.
5. If a switch supports BB Credit, the RX BB Credit column replaces the 10-100km column.
Use this to set minimum and maximum allowable port BB credit values as follows:
