Time-value-of-money calculations

1. Press (Я) (FINANCE) to open the financial solver.

The Time Value of Money input fonn is displayed.

2. Depending on the value that you want to calculate, enter values into

the fields.

® To enter a value in a field, place the cursor in the field, enter the

value and press ШШ. The value appears in the highliglrted field.

» To edit an existing value, place the cursor in the field and press

EDIT. Edit tire value on the command line and press

(ENTER).

* To specify whether payments are made at the begiiming or the end

of the payment period, place the highlight in the Beg/End field and

press CHOOS. (The Beg/End field is immediately below the P/Yr

field. It displays either BEG or END.) Select the value you want from

the list.

3. Use the arrow keys to move the cursor to the field for the value to be

determined and press solve.

The financial solver solves the calculation and the computed value

appears in the field.

4. Press @S) to return to the default screen. The value that you

computed is displayed in the history.

For example, to calculate the monthly payments on a $150,000 mortgage

over a 25 year period at an interest rate of 7.5%:

1. Press (n) CfiNANCE) to open the financial solver.

The Time Value of Money input fonn is displayed.

2. Enter the values into the relevant fields.

Note that the number of payments is 300,

or 25 times 12.

3. Use the arrow keys to place the cursor in

the PiMT field, and press solve. The monthly

amormt appears in the PMT field.
