4.4 Command Inputs:

This section describes the response information structure from the issued commands,

which will be returned from MMS as interprocess messages. These responses will

include error information, when appropriate, for the issued command.

4.4.1 Mount Media Message:

The Mount Media Message is used to notify the requester that the Mount Media

Command successfully completed or that an error occurred causing the command to

fail. With a Mount Command, it will return the drive position the tape label was

moved to (0-9 bottom to top) and the slot position the tape label was moved from. A

–1 (a 255 will be in both bytes) means that no change occurred. The first byte of the

Reserved 4 field will have an X, which stands for mount update. The structure of the

Mount Media Message, its arguments and an example are listed in Table 4-8.
