• JNL Group: The number of a journal group. A journal group number ending in [&] indicates

the journal group is in a 2DC configuration with Continuous Access Journal and TrueCopy

Synchronous (e.g., 01 [&]). A journal group number ending in [M] indicates the journal group

is in a 3DC configuration with three Continuous Access Journal sites (e.g., 01 [M]).

• Current: The number and the capacity of journal volumes that currently exist in the journal

group.

• Total: Estimates the number and the capacity of journal volumes after addition or deletion,

and then shows the estimated number and the capacity.

• Set: Applies the settings in the window to the Journal Operation window (“Journal Operation

Window” (page 116)).

• Cancel: Cancels the settings and closes the window.

Deleting Journal Volumes from a Journal Group

To delete journal volumes from the secondary storage system, log on to the secondary storage

system and then perform the following operation:

1. Ensure that the Remote Web Console main window is in Modify mode.

For detailed information about how to do this, see the HP XP24000/XP20000 Remote Web

Console User Guide.

2. Ensure that the Journal Operation window is open (see “Journal Operation Window”

(page 116)).

3. In the tree of the Journal Operation window, select one journal group under Registered. You

cannot select more than one journal group.

4. Right-click the selected journal group in the tree, or the desired journal group in the upper

right list, and select Edit JNL Volumes.

Caution: As a general rule, you can delete journal volumes only when the attribute of the

journal group is Initial or when the status of the journal group is Stop or Hold(Failure). However,

when one journal group uses multiple mirror IDs, you can delete journal volumes only in the

cases described in Table 35 (page 164).
