Neoview role. Note these
considerations:
• If you are a platform user, leave this
field blank.
• If you are a database user and you
leave this field blank, NPA Tools
uses your default role.
• For database users, if you specify a
role and then need to log on using
a different role, you must
disconnect and specify the new role
when you reconnect to the system.

Role Name
The DNS name or IP address for the
target Neoview platform. This is a
required field.
XYZ0101.xyz.abc.com
Host Name
The NDCS server port number. This is
a required field.

The default schema to use. This field
is optional.

The Connect dialog box provides these buttons that allow you to test your connection, connect
to a system, and cancel.

Tests the connection to NDCS.
[Test]
Connects to the Neoview platform and the workload filter
dimensions in the Triage Space. If Fetch Timeline
Information is enabled in Tools>Options, NPA starts
downloading information to populate and build up the
Timeline Controller and the individual system and
workload graphs.
[OK]
Discards changes and closes the Connect dialog box.[Cancel]
Additionally, after a successful connection is established to the Neoview platform, the toolbar
icons for Connect, Disconnect, and Reconnect are enabled and their icons are changed according
to the state. In the disconnected state, Connect shows a “plug/connect” icon. When connected,
NPA shows a connected power plug:
You can adjust the timeout settings for ODBC sessions through the Tools>Options menu bar.
For information about the Query Viewer settings, see “Triage Space and Query Viewer Settings”
(page 78). For information about the Time Settings, see “Neoview Performance Analyzer
Workspace” (page 15).
Select [Cancel] to discard changes and close the Connect dialog box.
