23.2 Alternative booting
23.2.1 Booting a managed system to Linux Rescue Mode
Use the DiagnoseBoot to Linux Rescue Mode option to access a RAM disk environment on
a target managed system.
NOTE: If booting to the Linux Rescue Mode fails, the target server lost its association with its
management processor. To troubleshoot that problem, see Section 23.19 (page 247).
23.2.2 Booting a managed system to the SmartStart Toolkit
You can use the ConfigureBoot to SmartStart Toolkit option to boot a target managed system
to the HP SmartStart Toolkit environment for diagnostic purposes.
When you boot a system to the toolkit environment, the root disk partitions are mounted on the
/mnt/target directory.
The following system utilities are available in the /TOOLKIT directory:
reboot
setbootorder
statemgr
rbsureset
hpdiscovery
ifhw
hwquery
For information about using the toolkit utilities, see the HP SmartStart Toolkit :
http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/toolkit/index.html
NOTE: If booting to the SmartStart Toolkit fails, the target server lost its association with its
management processor. To troubleshoot that problem, see Section 23.19 (page 247).
23.3 Apache service does not start
The Apache service does not start if you did not create a self-signed Apache certificate.
SLES:
Look in the /var/log/apache2/error_log log file for service errors. You might see an
error similar to this:
Init: Unable to read server certificate from file
/etc/apache2/ssl.crt/server.crt
