This table explains indications shown by the Power and Service indicators.

These indications do not cause a specific error message on the alphanumeric

display. Table A-1

on page A-3 provides information on specific error conditions.

Operator Panel Messages

Table A-1 on page A-3 provides and alphabetical list of operator panel

messages and recommended actions. The notation FSC stands for a four-digit

alphanumeric fault symptom code. The code itself is not important for identifying

the error type.

Service Power Meaning; Action

Off On Normal operation; take no action.

Flashing after

collection is done

On or flashing Drive error recovered to EEPROM;

IPL drive to see if the problem

repeats. If the problem repeats, collect

dump data and/or replace drive.

Off or flashing Flashing while

action takes place

Drive error; automatically run an IPL

or power on initiated.

Off or flashing Flashing constantly,

meaning it does not

exit IPL mode

Drive failed proper power on; replace

drive.

On On Drive failed; IPL drive to see if

problem repeats. If problem repeats,

replace drive.
