Installing Exte
rnal Storage
You need to inst
all External Storage using the license key to perform the External Storage operations on
the Remote Web Console computer.
To install the External Storage license key:
1. Start the Remote Web Console Java application program for the desired storage system.
2. Enable the Exte
rnal Storage options on the Remote Web Console computer and on each
storage system.

Uninstalling External Storage
To uninstall External Storage, you must remove all the pairs and then delete the external volume mapping.
To uninstallExternalStorage:
1. Start Remote Web Console, and open the Remote Web Console main window.
For instructions, see the HP StorageWorks XP24000 Remote Web Console User’s Guide.
2.
Delete external volume mapping (see “Deleting the External Volume Mapping” on page 96).
3. Disable the External Storage option on the Remote Web Console computer and on each
storage system.

Starting Ex
ternal Storage
This section explains how to start External Storage.
To start External Storage and display the window you need:
1. Start Remo
te Web Console, and open the Remote Web Console main window.
For instructions, see the HP StorageWorks XP24000 Remote Web Console User’s Guide.
2. Click Go and then External Storage on the menu bar of the Remote Web Console main window.
Names of the windows which you need for External Storage operations are displayed in the
submenu.
3. Click the n
ame of the window you want to display.
External Storage starts up, and the window whose name you clicked in the submenu is displayed.

4. Switch to Modify mode if necessary.
